  ABOUT JEFF & SUE

Jeff and Sue, New Jersey natives, married in 1974 and actually started singing together while in High School. Jeff knew at an early age that he would make his career playing the piano. At 15, he was backing artists like Evie Tornquist, The Envoys, The Couriers, and others. He started his recording career at Baldwin Sound Studios in Mechanicsburg, PA, and quickly became the studio piano player for many gospel artists.

During that time, Sue was also making a 'local' name for herself. She released her first album, 'Sheltered In The Arms Of God', while she was just a junior at Penns Grove High School. After they graduated from High School, they traveled with the Sammy Hall Singers, from Sevierville, TN. That two year tour with Sammy would turn out to be the perfect 'on-the-road' education and fine-tuning of their own music ministry and abilities.

Upon returning home, Jeff opened 'SJD SOUND STUDIOS' and began immersing himself in the latest recording techniques. Their 'sound' was unique and very different to other duets on the road. Sue began writing her own music and creating their own signature sound, that many still respond to today.

Jeff also was music minister at two churches, while Sue led worship and directed women's groups. Sue also was the morning DJ at WNRK radio in Delaware for 12 years. She continues to speak for women's conferences, retreats, and special workshops.

During this time, their children, David and Annie, were thriving young people growing in their own gifts and talents. Jeff and Sue's kids, David and Annie. David is 20 and Annie is 19. Fall 2005.David is quite the car enthusiast and is currently an audio installer for Circuit City. He’s known as 'Mr. Gadget', because he knows how to take things apart and put them back together again! David is a Master Technician student at Automotive Training Center, Exton, PA. He is happiest under the hood of a car! He has an amazing ear for music and the technical side of it all (a chip off the old block!). Annie is a sophomore at North Central University in Minneapolis, MN, on a music scholarship. She plays the piano and sings, and most would say she is far advanced than her mother ever was at her age! She has traveled to El Salvador on missions trips and has a real heart for ministry.

While most families approach the 'thinning of the herd' on a gradual basis, Jeff and Sue will be 'empty-nesters' almost immediately after 19 years! Many would say that this 'emptying' time could be difficult, but strangely it is welcomed with new energy and enthusiasm - to promote the future of their own children and their ministries and to also concentrate once again on their own travels, concert ministry, and album productions.

Naomi Beatty, Sue's mother, passed away on November 10th, 2005. She was a great encourager and servant of her faith. She will be greatly missed. Visit Naomi's guestbook.
